Beth Bacher, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Beth joined HealthSouth in 2001. She received her bachelor’s degree from CPSU in California and a master’s degree in business administration in healthcare management from WIU in Phoenix. Her management provides support to clinical and administrative efforts, while maintaining positive customer relations. Her motivation comes from working with a dynamic team who is dedicated to providing an exceptional patient experience.

Michael Kravetz, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Kravetz is board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine. He attended Stanford University and the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, and completed his residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center.  Dr. Kravetz is the medical director and chief of staff at HealthSouth where he provides direct patient care and administrative direction. For more than 20 years Dr. Kravetz has combined compassion and expertise to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Michael Kravets M.D., is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Lori Ferguson

Director of Marketing Operations

Lori joined the HealthSouth family in 2012 as a rehabilitation liaison. In November of 2014 she assumed the director of marketing operations role providing support and leadership to the marketing team. Lori is a nurse with over 30 years of experience in ICU, rehabilitation, neuro and med-surg nursing. She has extensive background in the case management as well an in depth knowledge of the insurance industry. She is committed to patient advocacy in the healthcare setting.

Danette Garcia, PHR

Human Resources Director

Danette has been a part of the HealthSouth family since 1994. She worked in various positions with the hospital while completing her bachelor’s degree in human resource management. She received her certification in Professional HR in 2009. The various positions she held within HealthSouth have helped as she recruits for openings and manages all aspects of employee relations. Danette's positive attitude is an effective tool whether she is interviewing potential employees or providing general orientation.

Katy Haney, CPA

Controller

Katy joined HealthSouth in April 2009. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and is a licensed CPA. Katy has 20 years of accounting experience in various industries including non-profit, transportation and construction.  She enjoys working with staff to develop operational efficiencies at Valley of the Sun.  This enables the hospital to continue to provide superior patient care and see positive patient outcomes.

Derry Hollock, SLP

Director of Therapy Operations

Derry has been a member of the HealthSouth team since 2002, and has treated patients since 1989. She has a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, and enjoys using new techniques and technology to help patients achieve independence. Derry is a firm believer that patient knowledge promotes patient satisfaction.  She works with her staff to promote superior outcomes, cutting edge therapy treatment, and to exceed the patient's expectations.

John Lawler, PTA, BS

Director of Quality and Risk

John joined the HealthSouth team in 2004 and has worked in the physical therapy arena for more than 15 years. He has been involved with staff and patient education throughout his career in healthcare and is an advocate to improve both safety and quality of care.

Stephanie Palmer, RN, CRRN

Chief Nursing Officer

Stephanie joined the HealthSouth team in 2010. The nursing, leadership, and management experience Stephanie brought with her from previous employment helped her excel at HealthSouth and quickly earned her respect and recognition. She was promoted and served as a nursing supervisor which gave her broad exposure to many aspects of a patient’s HealthSouth experience. As a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), Stephanie has comprehensive appreciation of the importance of every member of the HealthSouth team, from nursing staff, therapists and physicians, to kitchen and housekeeping staff.  Providing high quality care in a patient-centered environment is Stephanie’s passion, which mirrors the HealthSouth mission.
