Beth Bacher

Beth Bacher, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Beth joined HealthSouth in 2001. She received her bachelor’s degree from CPSU in California and a master’s degree in business administration in healthcare management from WIU in Phoenix. Her management provides support to clinical and administrative efforts, while maintaining positive customer relations. Her motivation comes from working with a dynamic team who is dedicated to providing an exceptional patient experience.

Michael Kravetz

Michael Kravetz, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Kravetz is board-certified in both physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine. He attended Stanford University and the University of Arizona, College of Medicine, and completed his residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center.  Dr. Kravetz is the medical director and chief of staff at HealthSouth where he provides direct patient care and administrative direction. For more than 20 years Dr. Kravetz has combined compassion and expertise to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Michael Kravets M.D., is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.

Danette Garcia

Danette Garcia, PHR

Human Resources Director

Danette has been a part of the HealthSouth family since 1994. She worked in various positions with the hospital while completing her bachelor’s degree in human resource management. She received her certification in Professional HR in 2009. The various positions she held within HealthSouth have helped as she recruits for openings and manages all aspects of employee relations. Danette's positive attitude is an effective tool whether she is interviewing potential employees or providing general orientation.

Katy Haney

Katy Haney, CPA


Katy joined HealthSouth in April 2009. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix and is a licensed CPA. Katy has 20 years of accounting experience in various industries including non-profit, transportation and construction.  She enjoys working with staff to develop operational efficiencies at Valley of the Sun.  This enables the hospital to continue to provide superior patient care and see positive patient outcomes.

Diane Hendrix

Diane Hendrix

Director of Marketing Operations

Diane joined HealthSouth Valley of the Sun in November 2014 as a rehabilitation liaison then assumed the director of marketing operations position in September 2017. She has more than 20 years’ experience in the health care industry in case management and has extensive background in Arizona long-term care and rehabilitation for individuals who have sustained a traumatic brain injury or stroke. Diane is committed to patient advocacy and assisting patients in returning to the highest level of independence possible.

Derry Hollock

Derry Hollock, SLP

Director of Therapy Operations

Derry has been a member of the HealthSouth team since 2002, and has treated patients since 1989. She has a master’s degree in speech-language pathology, and enjoys using new techniques and technology to help patients achieve independence. Derry is a firm believer that patient knowledge promotes patient satisfaction. She works with her staff to promote superior outcomes, cutting edge therapy treatment, and to exceed the patient's expectations.

Stephanie Palmer

Stephanie Palmer, RN, CRRN

Chief Nursing Officer

Stephanie joined the HealthSouth team in 2010. The nursing, leadership, and management experience Stephanie brought with her from previous employment helped her excel at HealthSouth and quickly earned her respect and recognition. She was promoted and served as a nursing supervisor which gave her broad exposure to many aspects of a patient’s HealthSouth experience. As a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN), Stephanie has comprehensive appreciation of the importance of every member of the HealthSouth team, from nursing staff, therapists and physicians, to kitchen and housekeeping staff. Providing high quality care in a patient-centered environment is Stephanie’s passion, which mirrors the HealthSouth mission.

Liz Ross

Liz Ross, RN, CRRN, CCM

Director of Case Management

Liz joined HealthSouth in 1996 and is a certified rehabilitation registered nurse. During her career she has held a variety of clinical and management positions, which have given her the experience to understand and respond to patients’ concerns, which is a key element in the continual effort to improve the rehabilitation experience for each patient.

Crystal Weikel

Crystal Weikel

Director of Quality and Risk

Crystal Weikel became part of the HealthSouth Valley of the Sun team in 2018 as the director of quality and risk. She is a registered nurse and holds a doctorate in nursing science from UCLA. She brings a wealth of experience in leadership, research, regulations, quality and risk, has been published in more than 15 publications, and has conducted numerous presentations locally, nationally and internationally.
