HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Joins Others in Support of Motorcycle Safety Awareness

GLENDALE, Ariz. – HealthSouth Valley of the Sun Rehabilitation Hospital, Arizona Motorcycle Safety Awareness (AMSAF), the State of Arizona and other healthcare and industry sponsors, are working together to help reduce motorcycle accidents and fatalities in Arizona. In 2013, more than 3,000 motorcycle accidents and 146 fatalities took place in Arizona.
On March 7, the first “Riding for the Long Haul” event will be held in the parking lot of Community Church of Joy in Glendale, Arizona, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Motorcycle enthusiasts will have the opportunity to engage in interactive education and see latest in safety gear. The event also will include an internationally ranked trials bike stunt rider, live music, food trucks, raffle prizes and emcee. Twenty motorcycle training scholarships worth over $200 each will also be given away.
The interactive day will help educate Arizona communities and will focus efforts to reduce motorcycle accidents and fatalities. The event also will showcase key vendors from the State of Arizona, major healthcare providers including Dignity Healthcare, Banner Health, Brain Injury Alliance of Arizona and HealthSouth Valley of the Sun, insurance companies and law firms.

- Alberto Gutier, Director of Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety
- John Halikowski, Director of Arizona Department of Transportation
All profits from Riding for the Long Haul will benefit AMSAF and its mission to provide motorcycle training scholarships to anyone needing training and certification.
